About Me
I’m Sean – a passionate boatie and marine professional.

I completed my trade as a plumber in New Zealand and grew up in and around boats as part of the competitive NZ sailing scene. My career then took me offshore into the superyacht industry, where I worked on deck on some of my dream boats including the Mari-Cha III and the J Class 'Shamrock V'. I gained some skipper tickets before moving into the engine room to complete the rest of my time on yachts as an engineer. It was there I learned how to work to the highest standards, where attention to detail, reliability, and quality workmanship were non-negotiable.

After several years abroad, I sailed home to New Zealand, carrying with me the experience and high standards I gained in the superyacht industry. Back on shore, I worked with two well known marine engineering companies in Auckland on major superyacht refits. It was during this time that I saw a gap in the local boat market for specialist marine plumbing and systems. This is when Marine Projex was born, servicing boats from Auckland to Bay of Islands.
Having owned and lived aboard my own vessels, I understand firsthand the frustrations that can come with boat ownership. That’s why I’m passionate about my work and pride myself on turning up when I say I will, completing every job to the highest standard, and delivering fair value. This approach has built my strong base of repeat clients and word-of-mouth referrals.
Feel free to give me a call to discuss your next job or upcoming projects. I look forward to working with you.
